Vintage Kendall Oil Can Oil Dispenser From Service Station 1950's -60's EraVintage Kendall Oil Can Oil Dispenser From Service Station 1950's -60's Era
Neat old gas or filling station memorabilia! 11.5 inches tall, 9 inches wide at the handle and spout. Made of heavy galvanized metal with a brass connection on the bottom of the spout--It weighs just over three pounds.
This was used at a time when an attendant came to your car and filled your tank while checking your oil and water, and the air in your tires, and then took your payment, all the time while you sat in comfort in your car.
To add a quart of oil to the customer's car, the metal oil can was pushed in over the blade inside this dispenser, which opened the can to allow the oil to flow. The lever at the top of the handle moves from side to side to open or close the spout.
Marked, "Property of Kendall Refining Co." This dispenser would have been "loaned" to a gas station which was selling Kendall products and oil.
