VINTAGE ETCHED GLASS CORNFLOWER DAISY BRIDE'S BASKET WITH APPLIED HANDLE

Description

This is a very beautiful etched glass basket usually given to a bride on her wedding day, which is still a lovely tradition.  The applied handle has a twisted elongated leaf design to it, and is in solid and pure condition.    It's a nice medium size, measuring 8" tall with a 6 1/2" area flared out to the widest area across length-wise and it is 4" wide with a base approximately 3" in diameter.  .The edge is a large scalloped rim.  This comes from a family estate and although the age is unknown, it must be from the 1940's or early 1950's or even earlier.  Really a pretty and useful piece as either a vase or a candy bowl.

The amount listed here is simply an estimate and very seldom is it increased, and then only for real distance, weight of the package and insurance. A corrected invoice will be sent if necessary. BY PLACING A BID ON OR PURCHASING AN ITEM YOU AGREE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT ALL TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS STATED BELOW.  VERY IMPORTANT: The SHIPPING CARRIER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS WHEN ITEMS ARE INSURED.  Any insurance claims or monetary claims for items damaged during transit will be strictly between the buyer and the freight company in question.  I pack items with care but when the carrier takes possession, I can’t guarantee safety.   In the unlikely event that an item is damaged during shipping transit, You, the Buyer, agree to file the insurance claim with the U.S. Post Office for reimbursement.  I will send you the necessary receipts for you to file a claim with the Post Office. It is YOUR responsibility to file a claim for any insured items that are damaged because that is what Insurance is purchased for. This is the U.S. Post Office requirement and this information is found on their web site on the “File A Claim” page.  I can NOT file claims with the Post Office for you. E Bay might tell you differently, but the U.S. Postal Regulations and Requirements are very clear. In order for the claim to be processed with the Post Office, the receiver of the damaged item must file the claim at their local Post Office or you may file online. You will need to keep the damaged item, the box with the labels on it, and all of the original packing materials as the Post Office may require them for proof of damage.
If the item is broken or damaged during shipping (I ALWAYS inspect everything before it leaves here) and there is insurance on the item, the claim must be started at the buyer's location and should not be returned to me. Always contact me to make sure that you have everything you need to do this. I wrap very well and don't expect there to be any problems.
