Up for sale is a
Vintage Eli Lilly “Powder Lime (Slaked)” Medicine Bottle!
This advertising bottle is from the
1940s
or
1950s
and still has some original contents remaining inside. The Powder Lime (Slaked) was made by
Eli Lilly & Company
,
Indianapolis
, USA. It was “A specially prepared Calcium Hydroxide for making Lime Water, USP”. This is a screw-top bottle with and its original light green metal screw cap, paper label, and most of the internal safety seal still intact. This is a 11.5 Gm bottle measuring about 1½” wide x 2¾” tall x 1” deep. The bottle label has classic Eli Lilly advertising graphics similar to other medicine bottles. As shown in the photos, the bottle is in very good condition for its age with very little paper loss on its label. The label does have some soiling and a few small marks as shown. The glass is in nice shape, and I did not see any cracks or chips in the bottle. The metal screw cap bears the Lilly name with great color, and it fits well on the bottle. This vintage Eli Lilly Powder Lime (Slaked) medicine bottle would make a great addition to your collection!
