    I used this successfully in an Apple Newton MessagePad 2100 to send faxes. It has been in a box for a number of years. It will probably work in older laptops with a PCMCIA card slot but please note that I cannot test it, so returns are allowed. It has a funky "XJACK" adapter that allows you to pop out the connector and insert a standard RJ11 phone cable.
