    Description

    FROM MY FAMILY COLLECTION:
    8" diameter x 6 1/2" tall
    cut glass
    ROSE BOWL
    By STRAUS
    Cut in the EMPIRE pattern
    patent date of 1892
    130+ years old
A beautiful pattern that will certainly grace any table or
your prized collection of American Brilliant Cut Glass.
    The pattern:
This is a pattern cut in:
    A band of 3  alternating 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" Cake hobstars
    and 3  alternating 5" x 3 1/2" strawberry cut kites.
A 4" vesica is cut beside each hobstar and kite extending the the underside
    12 point expanding Cake Hobstar
    The condition:
Cut on a clear white blank.
This is wood polished, suggesting and early American Brilliant period piece
    Very well taken care of.
I do not see or feel any flea bites or nicks in
    the
    pattern
    The mouth is clean.
The rim is original: flat on top and smoothed into the bowl.
I felt one tiniest flea bite on mouth so small it won't photograph.
A few faint scuff marks on the underside.
    BEAUTIFUL      BEAUTIFUL         BEAUTIFUL
    I would state that this 8" diameter x 6 1/2" tall
    ROSE BOWL
    is in
    Excellent condition.
It is a RARELY seen style,
Overall I may see two tiny flea bites in this 130 year old item.
